UTM Parser

Paste a tagged URL and see precisely what it will report as — before it goes live in an ad, an email or a QR code.

Tagged URL Reads as you paste
Anything with a query string. Encoded values, extra parameters and anchors are all handled.
What it contains

Paste a tagged URL to see the destination and every campaign parameter it carries.

How this parser works

Paste any URL with a query string. The parser separates the destination from the campaign parameters, decodes the values, lists any non-UTM parameters it found, and flags the two mistakes that quietly break reporting: missing required parameters and inconsistent capitalisation.

The formula

The five parameters GA4 reads are utm_source, utm_medium, utm_campaign, utm_term and utm_content. Source, medium and campaign are needed together for a session to report as a campaign.

Questions

GA4 treats Google and google as separate sources, so mixed casing splits one campaign across several rows in your reports.

It is flagged as not set. An empty parameter is a tagging bug — it looks correct in the URL and reports as missing.

Proof this works
