Questions
Should AOV include shipping and tax?
Pick one convention and hold to it. Most stores exclude tax and include shipping revenue, but consistency matters more than which you choose.
Why does AOV matter for advertising?
Because it sets what you can afford to pay for a customer. Raising AOV raises your acceptable cost per acquisition without touching the ads at all.
