How this calculator works
Enter your advertising spend and the impressions delivered over the same period. The calculator returns what a thousand impressions cost you.
The formula
CPM = Advertising spend ÷ Impressions × 1,000. The M is the Roman numeral for a thousand, not million — a common and expensive misreading.
Questions
When should I optimise for CPM rather than CPC?
When the goal is being seen rather than clicked — brand campaigns, launches, or building an audience to retarget later.
Why does my CPM change so much?
CPM reflects auction competition for your audience. Narrow audiences, competitive seasons and premium placements all raise it.
